Unfortunately, it's still a misnomer that spider veins, varicose veins, leg pain, aching, heaviness, cramping, and restlessness are just superficial concerns. They are actually signs of an underlying problem we call venous insufficiency.
Our veins have primarily one job, and that's to bring blood from the body back up towards the heart. They can do that because they have one-way valves. These valves are supposed to close completely to prevent the backwards blood flow. When those valves no longer work, it allows blood to come back down the leg and form those symptoms.
So really, if you're suffering from those symptoms, your symptoms are a sign of an underlying problem. So at Miami Vein and Wellness, Jacksonville, our goal is to get you back in shorts because it's too hot in Florida to wear pants.
