Spider Vein Removal in Jacksonville for Clearer-Looking Legs

Fine red, blue, and purple veins can make you think twice about shorts, dresses, and days at the beach. Our consultation-first approach identifies what is visible, what may be feeding it, and the most sensible way to clear it.

Most leg spider veins are treated with in-office sclerotherapy, with transparent pricing and a plan tailored to the number, size, and pattern of your veins.

How Spider Vein Removal Works

Spider veins are tiny surface vessels, also called telangiectasias, that appear in web-like or branching patterns. They are usually cosmetic, although aching, burning, heaviness, swelling, or nearby varicose veins can point to a deeper venous issue that deserves evaluation.

For leg spider veins, our primary treatment is sclerotherapy. A medical-grade solution is placed into the unwanted vein with a very fine needle. The vessel closes, blood reroutes through healthy veins, and the treated vein gradually fades as the body absorbs it.

Some visible clusters are supplied by slightly deeper reticular or feeder veins. Looking at the full pattern before treating helps us address the source of the cluster rather than chasing individual surface veins one at a time.

Treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Your consultation establishes whether surface treatment is appropriate, whether duplex ultrasound is indicated, and how many sessions are realistic for your goals.

Who Spider Vein Removal Is For

An evaluation confirms whether cosmetic surface treatment fits your veins and your goals.

Fine web-like leg veins

Red, blue, or purple clusters on the thighs, calves, knees, or ankles are the classic veins treated with sclerotherapy.

Visible feeder veins

Blue-green reticular veins beneath the surface can feed smaller clusters and may need to be included in the treatment plan.

A cosmetic concern

You do not need pain or other symptoms to ask about treatment. Many patients simply want their legs to look clearer.

A preference for minimal downtime

Sessions are performed in the office, and most patients can return to routine daily activity the same day.

Recurring surface veins

New spider veins can develop over time. An evaluation can distinguish expected new veins from a pattern suggesting underlying reflux.

What to Expect From Treatment

Spider vein removal is a process rather than an instant change. We set the timeline and session estimate before treatment begins.

  1. Consultation and leg evaluation

We review your symptoms and health history, examine the visible pattern, and decide whether ultrasound is appropriate before cosmetic treatment.

  2. Fine-needle treatment

Small amounts of sclerosant are placed into targeted veins. A session commonly takes less than 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

  3. Walking and aftercare

Walking is encouraged after treatment. We may recommend compression and temporary limits on strenuous exercise, heat, or direct sun.

  4. Gradual fading

Treated vessels may look darker before they improve, then fade over several weeks. Larger feeder veins can take longer.

  5. Reassessment

Many patients benefit from more than one session. We reassess the response before recommending additional treatment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to remove spider veins on the legs?

Sclerotherapy is a standard treatment for leg spider veins. A fine needle places a solution into the unwanted vessel so it closes and fades over the following weeks.

The right technique depends on the size, depth, and feeder pattern of your veins, which is why treatment begins with an evaluation.

How many spider vein removal sessions will I need?

Some small areas respond well to one session, while broader or denser patterns often need a short series. We estimate the likely number after examining your legs and reassess after each treatment.

Does spider vein removal hurt?

Most patients describe brief stinging at the injection sites. The treatment uses a fine needle, requires no general anesthesia, and is usually completed in less than 30 minutes.

How long does it take spider veins to fade?

Improvement develops gradually over several weeks. Treated veins can temporarily look darker or feel firm before fading, and larger veins may take longer than very fine surface vessels.

Will the treated spider veins come back?

A vein that fully responds is absorbed by the body, but treatment cannot prevent new spider veins from forming. Genetics, hormones, pregnancy, age, and prolonged standing can continue to influence future veins.

Is spider vein removal covered by insurance?

Purely cosmetic spider vein treatment is generally self-pay. If you also have aching, swelling, heaviness, skin changes, or larger varicose veins, an evaluation can determine whether an underlying condition may qualify for insurance-covered care.

What is the difference between this page and sclerotherapy?

Spider vein removal describes the result patients are seeking; sclerotherapy is the procedure most often used to achieve it on the legs. Our sclerotherapy page explains the medication, injection process, and recovery in greater procedural detail.
